Neighborhood Resources Project Update
Victor Torres, Neighborhood Resources Director, will provide an update to the City Commission on the status of the project that is updating code enforcement data recording efforts, including new hand-held data entry devices.
933 Rhode Island Update
Neighborhood Resources Code Enforcement staff met with the owner of 933 Rhode Island on January 8th at the site to discuss their expectations with him regarding property security and safety. Victor Torres will provide an update to the City Commission on the status of the site.
Parks & Recreation Aquatic Award
Fred DeVictor, Parks and Recreation Director, reports the Aquatic Division will receive the National Recreation and Park Association’s 2004 Excellence in Aquatics Award for communities with populations of 50,000 to 100,000. This Award honors agencies that demonstrate excellence in planning and managing diversified aquatic services. It is the highest and most prestigious national award in aquatics an agency can receive. DeVictor points out that Jimmy Gibbs, Aquatics Supervisor, and the Aquatics Division staff are to be commended for their excellent work and customer service to the community.
Solid Waste Superintendent Highlighted Calmly Collected
The attached copy of an article from the December, 2003 edition of Waste Age magazine highlights six collection managers from across the nation. Included in the interviews was Bob Yoos, Solid Waste Superintendent, who shared his thoughts on the changes, regulations, costs and customer service challenges for today’s waste industry professionals.
