RE:              Appointments to boards and commissions

I recommend the following individuals for the appointments listed below.  I have included phone numbers.  Please feel free to call any of them to discuss their potential appointments.  I believe they are willing to answer your questions or receive any comments you might have.

Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board:

Appoint David Horstman, Spring Hill Suites (841.2700), to a four year term that will expire 07/01/07.  Since this position expired 07/01/03, Mr. Horstman’s term will be four years from the term expiration date.

Lawrence Arts Commission:

Appoint Sureva Towler (331.2580) to a three year term that will expire 01/31/07.

Mechanical Code Board of Appeals:

Appoint Jim Sparkes to the position vacated by Bob Randolph.  This position will expire 03/31/06.

Neighborhood Resources Advisory Committee:

Appoint Janet Gerstner (843.6649) to the at-large position vacated by Bob Ebey.  This position will expire 09/30/06.
