Re: CODIFICATION - 2004
The Code of the City of Lawrence was last recodified in September of 2001. Attached for your review is a draft of a new codification with a suggested effective date of January 1, 2004. An adoption ordinance is also included. The below table summarizes the new ordinances adopted since the last codification which were substantive additions to the code and/or any changes made in the code during recodification.
Also included is a table which summarizes the codification costs from various area cities. Some Kansas cities use a private legal service provider to keep their code updated - both in print and on-line forms. The City of Lawrence Legal Services Department has been providing in-house codification work as well as electronic maintenance of the code on the City website.
