Re:                Folks Road Engineering Contract

On January 27, 2003 the City Commission approved the selection of Peridian Group to provide engineering services for the design of Folks Road.  Peridian Group has provided a contract in the amount of $67,305 which staff is recommending that the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute.

Peridian and Landplan Engineering were asked to submit qualification statements and then asked to interview.  Attached is the criteria used by the interview committee to determine which firm to recommend.

The interview committee included Brenda Jackson (Harvard Neighborhood representative), Deborah McVey (property owner on Folks Road), Terese Gorman, David Woosley and Chuck Soules.

The proposal includes meeting with owners and neighbors, staking of right of way to provide owners a visual idea of where the street will be, traffic calming (options will be developed and presented to owners and neighbors), presentation to City Commission, right of way descriptions, and final construction documents including plans and specifications for the improvement of Folks Road.

Please feel free to call should you have any questions.

Respectfully Submitted,

Charles F. Soules, P.E.

Director of Public Works
