RE:              Appointments to boards and commissions

I recommend the following individuals for the appointments listed below.  I have included phone numbers.  Please feel free to call any of them to discuss their potential appointments.  I believe they are willing to answer your questions or receive any comments you might have.

Board of Electrical Examiners and Appeals:

Appoint Mike Higgins (843.4174), Western Extralite Company, Inc., to the un-expired position held by Leigh Winsor.  This is an at-large position and will expire 03/31/05.

Appoint Lt. Russell Brickell (832-3176) to the term vacated by Mark Grinstead.  This position must be held by a Fire Department representative.  Since the un-expired term is close to the expiration date of 03/31/04, Lt. Brickell will be appointed to his first full term that will expire 03/31/07.

Business Retention Task Force:

Appoint Scott Woodward (842.5154).

Lawrence Arts Commission:

Appoint Judi Geer Kellas (843.7749) to the position held by William Carswell.  This position will expire 01/31/07.

Appoint Paul Hotvedt (749.4514) to the position held by Linda Stone-Ferrier.  This position will expire 01/31/07.

Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health Board:

Reappoint Dr. Tom Liebel to an additional term that will expire 03/31/07.

Mechanical Code Board of Appeals:

Reappoint Bryan Wyatt (842.2468) to an additional term that will expire 03/31/07.
