Subject: Tuesday Feb. 24th City Commission Meeting

Dear City Commissioners;

The West Lawrence Neighborhood, the Quail Run Neighborhood, the Citizen's

for a Sane 6th and Wak, and the Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods ask

for the extension of the present moratorium at 6th and Wakarusa. There are

many reason to extend the moratorium.

One being that the zoning issues have been deferred by the applicant’s

request every time the zoning issues have been presented to the Planning

Commission.

Two, there are several documents that are being discussed by the Planning

Commission, the City Commission and the County Commission that have already

been developed and are in the reworking stages. These being the Horizon 2020

Chapter 6 and the new Zoning and Subdivision Regulations.

And last but not least is the litigations that are pending and which the

applicant has stated are the reasons that they have asked for deferment at

the Planning Commission meetings.

Based on the need to see that 6th and Wakarusa is developed with

consideration of the surrounding neighborhoods, the High School, and the

future commercial developments at this corner we ask that the moratorium be

extended until such time that you the City Commission feels will adequately

address these issues.

Thank you for your time;

On Behalf of the WLNA, QRNA, LAN, and The CItizen's for a Sane 6th and Wak.

Gwen Klingenberg

WLNA and LAN member
