Re:      Discounted Pass for Summer

In an effort to increase ridership on the Lawrence Transit System’s fixed routes and to provide additional transportation opportunities for children and families for the summer, the Public Transit Advisory Committee recommends that individuals purchasing aquatic passes be allowed to ride the T by showing their aquatic pass.  The aquatic pass would require the additional purchase by individuals of a T sticker.   The T stickers would be sold by Parks and Recreation staff.

PTAC recommends that the T sticker be valid from Memorial Day through Labor Day which is the traditional outdoor swimming season.  The T sticker will sell for $20.00.  There will be a $2.00 surcharge for replacement stickers. A monthly T sticker sells for $17.00.  Individuals taking advantage of the T sticker option would receive approximately a 40% discount.

Transit will provide aquatics’ staff with training on how to ride the bus.  In addition, transit would be available for key sales time to help answer questions.   It is our intent to co-market the T sticker concept in the upcoming Spring Parks and Recreation brochure.
