On Thursday, March 18, 2004 the City of Lawrence and Douglas County opened proposals for road salt in a cooperative purchasing agreement.  The results are as follows.

Last year the City purchased 2000 tons of road salt in a cooperative bid with the County for $24.89 a ton.  This year we requested bids for 2500 tons of salt with the option to buy an additional 500 tons in the spring of 2005.

Recommendation:

Approve bid from Hutchinson Salt for 2500 tons of road salt at $29.45 a ton totaling $73,625.00 with the option to buy an additional 500 tons for $14,725.00, total bid with option, $88,350.00.  (Public Works/Street Maintenance)
