RE:                 Sertoma Club’s Request to Sell Alcoholic Beverages at Broken Arrow Park

 

 

 


The Sertoma Club of Lawrence is planning its annual fundraiser at Broken Arrow Park on May 7 and May 8, 2004.  The club is requesting approval to sell alcoholic beverages at the fundraiser and for attendees to possess and consume these beverages at the park.  The club just today received a temporary license from the Alcohol Beverage Control for this event.  Since an ordinance authorizing the temporary sale and consumption at Broken Arrow Park is needed and given there is not sufficient time before the event to have the ordinance on first reading beginning next week, the Sertoma Club is requesting that the City Commission walk on first reading of Ordinance 7788 on the April 27th Consent Agenda and second reading would be on the May 4, 2004 City Commission Consent Agenda.
