At the Lawrence/Douglas County Economic Development Board meeting held on May 3rd, the increase in funding needed to complete the biosciences impact study by KU’s Policy Research Institute was recommended unanimously by the Board.

After making presentations to the City and County Commissions and revising the scope of the study, we recently learned that the study will cost $35,000 instead of the $24,120 estimate.  We respectfully request that the City, County, Chamber and KU split the additional amount bringing each entities total of $8,750 or an additional $2,720 as previously requested.

I have attached a revised scope of the study, which contains the additional items requested by each Commission.
