Utilities Department Inflow and Infiltration Project # II04-03 – 2004 Insituform Program
Project History. Part of the Utilities Department’s efforts at Inflow/Infiltration (I/I) reduction is to repair and reconstruct existing sewer line that is a source of I/I. The Utilities Department has a multi-year plan to repair and reconstruct lines in older sections of the City.
Project Status. The City requested a proposal from Insituform Technologies USA to provide all labor, materials and equipment to reconstruct +/- 14,233’ of sanitary sewer pipe in several areas throughout the City, as follows:

These locations are not conducive to the open cut methods of repair; therefore, we made a decision to sole source the work to the Insituform using their “in-place repair” process. The proposal we received is for $418,094.00. The cost per foot for 8” pipe is significantly less than the proposal for the 2002 repair project. The cost for 24” is the same as last year’s proposal.
Action Request. The Utilities Department is requesting approval from the City Commission to authorize the Utilities Department to enter into a contract with Insituform Technologies USA for an amount not to exceed $418,094.00 to complete this project. The project will be funded from the Department’s non-bonded construction fund.
