RE:              Appointments to boards and commissions

I recommend the following individuals for the appointments listed below.  I have included phone numbers.  Please feel free to call any of them to discuss their potential appointments.  I believe they are willing to answer your questions or receive any comments you might have.

Board of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters:

Appoint Kenneth Breithaupt of Action Plumbing (843.5670) to fill the plumbing contractor position that expired 04/30/04.  Mr. Breithaupt’s term will expire 04/30/07.

Downtown Parking Advisory Board:

Appoint Aimee Polson (832.0232) to the vacant position that expired 09/30/03.  Ms. Polson’s term will expire 09/30/06.

Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Commission:

Reappoint David Burress (864-9116) to a second term that will expire 05/31/07.

Appoint Sue Erickson (865.3531) to the position (Schachter) that will become vacant on 05/31/04.  Ms. Erickson’s term will expire 05/31/07.

Lawrence Humane Society Board of Directors (city appointee):

Appoint Mike Treanor (842.4858) as the city appointee.

Sister Cities Advisory Board:

Appoint Linda Hyler to fill the un-expired position that was held by Jodi Simek.  Ms. Hyler’s term will expire 12/31/06.
