Project:            Kaw Water Plant Control Room and Rest Room Improvements

City Project #:  2CP – 404

 

The 2004 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for the Utilities Department includes projects to construct a Control Room and remodel the existing restroom at the Kaw Water Plant.  The size of the current Control Room at the Kaw Plant does not  adequately accommodate the Operators, computer equipment, CCTV systems and future control equipment that is needed to  operate the facility.  In addition,  there is a need for   women’s restroom facilities on the second floor of the Kaw Water Plant.  Remodeling the  existing men’s restroom into both women’s and men’s  provides the needed facilities for our employees. Bids have been received for the project as shown above.  The consultant, LHW Architects and the Utility Department staff are in agreement to award the  project to the low bidder:

 

B. A. Green Construction, Inc. in the amount of $145,190.00.

 

Staff requests the City Commission to award the project as noted and authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with the low bidder.
