Re: Agenda Item – Engineering Services
Date: May 24, 2004
Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the June 8, 2004 meeting:
Engineering Services for Clinton Parkway and Wakarusa Relief Sewer
Utilities Department Project #PS04-33: Wastewater Collection Division
Project History: The Utilities Department Collection Division desires to construct a relief sewer line that will allow decommissioning of Pump Station #33, located at 4820 Clinton Parkway. Removal of this pump station will provide a better level of protection for customers connected to adjacent sewer lines and will result in elimination of costs associated with operating and maintaining the pump station. The project is recommended by the 2003 Wastewater Master Plan.
Project Status: The Utilities Department sent out Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and evaluated the five (5) proposals that were submitted. The proposal from Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) was deemed to be the best proposal based on overall professional experience of the firm, proposed project approach and understanding, cost projections, and qualifications of the Project Manager, staff and sub-consultants.
Action Request: The Utilities Department is seeking approval from the City Commission to execute a contract with Professional Engineering Consultants in the amount of $34,888.00 for design and construction phase services of the Clinton Parkway and Wakarusa Relief Sewer Project. Funding for this project will come from the Utility Department Capitol Improvement Fund (501-7800-588-6030).
Thank you for your assistance. Please advise it you have any questions.
