RE:	Appointments to boards and commissions

I recommend the following individuals for the appointments listed below.  I have included phone numbers (when available).  Please feel free to call any of them to discuss their potential appointments.  I believe they are willing to answer your questions or receive any comments you might have.

Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board:

Reappoint Kate Kelly (Days Inn – 843.9100), Brad Kemp (KU Natural History Museum – 864.2344) and Constance Wolfe (Halcyon House – 841.0314) to additional terms that will expire 07/01/04.

Douglas County Emergency Management Board:

Appoint Truman Waugh (843.6670) to an additional term that will expire 07/30/05.

Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority:

Reappoint Joe Helfert (865.2614) to an additional term.  Mr. Helfert’s term would expire 06/30/08.

Mental Health Board:

Appoint Ed Brunt (691.0002) to the position that expired 04/30/04.  Mr. Brunt’s term will expire 04/30/08.

Recycling and Resource Conservation Advisory Board:

Appoint Cindy Strecker (864.5695) to the position due to expire 12/31/04.  Appoint Kevin Dobbs (841.7495) to the position that is due to expire 12/31/06.
