NEIGHBORHOOD RESOURCES ADVISORY COMMITTEE

May 27, 2004 minutes

MEMBERS PRESENT:	Jeanette Collier, Donna Duncan, James Dunn, Janet Gerstner, Paula Gilchrist, Carrie Moore, Greg Moore, and Terri Pippert
MEMBERS ABSENT:	Vern Norwood and Kirsten Roussel
GUESTS PRESENT:	Patti Welty (Mayoral Appointee for North Lawrence)
STAFF PRESENT:	Monica Cardin and Margene Swarts

G. Moore called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.

Introductions

All present introduced themselves.   

Approval of the May 20, 2004, minutes

Gilchrist moved to approve the May 20, 2004 minutes.  C. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

Discuss calendar

Swarts noted that several Committee Members indicated they would not be able to attend the meeting on June 10.  She also noted staff will be gone to a conference and suggested postponing the meeting until June 17, 2004 at 5:30 p.m. in the Neighborhood Resources Department Conference Room 1.  The meetings in July and August would be the usual second Thursday of the month and the second meeting of those months would be cancelled.  She commented that the Committee might decide to cancel the July and/or August meetings if this meeting and the June meeting go well.  The annual dinner meeting will be in August.  The Committee would then go back to having two meetings beginning in September.  Regular meetings will take place in the City Commission room unless the Committee decides to meet in the Neighborhood Resources Conference Room.

Pippert commented she would still be on vacation on June 17.

The Committee agreed to the suggested calendar.

Continue Strategic Planning

The Committee participated in Strategic Planning that will be continued at the next meeting.

Adjourn

There being no further business, miscellaneous issues, or public present for comment, C. Moore moved to adjourn the meeting.  Duncan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.  The meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
