Lawrence, Kansas

WHEREAS:   The Lawrence High School Lions are celebrating the seventy-fifth year that Haskell Stadium has been the home site for all football games; and

WHEREAS:   The Lion’s varsity football team has a seventy-five percent win record since 1930; and

WHEREAS:   The Lawrence High School varsity Lion’s football team has won twenty-six state championships while calling Haskell home; and

WHEREAS:   The Lawrence High School Lions will celebrate with Haskell on its one hundred twenty years as an educational partner to the community of Lawrence;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mike Rundle, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby recognize and congratulate Lawrence Public Schools and the Lawrence High School football team for its partnership with Haskell as

“HOME OF THE HASKELL INDIANS”

and

“LAWRENCE HIGH CHESTY LIONS”
