Engineering Services for 17^th and Massachusetts/New Hampshire Relief Sewer

Utilities Department Project #CS04-07:

Project History: The Utilities Department Collection Division desires to construct a relief sewer between 17^th and Massachusetts and 13^th and Rhode Island.  The project is recommended by the 2003 Wastewater Master Plan.

Project Status:  The Utilities Department sent out Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and evaluated the seven (7) proposals that were submitted.  The proposal from BG Consultants was deemed to be the best proposal based on overall professional experience of the firm, proposed project approach and understanding, cost projections, and qualifications of the Project Manager, staff and sub-consultants. City staff met with BG Consultants to finalize the scope and the engineering costs.

Action Request:  The Utilities Department is seeking approval from the City Commission to execute a contract with BG Consultants in the amount of $170,095.00 for design and construction phase services of the 17^th and Massachusetts/New Hampshire Relief Sewer Project.  Funding for this project will come from the Utility Department Capitol Improvement Fund (501-7800-588-6030).
