To:       Board of Commissioners, City of Lawrence

Thank you for taking the time to meet with me.  Per your request Glee Vision Inc. wanted to submit information to you for future reference regarding our marketing concept.  The concept involves projecting advertisements via a light source at night on the side of buildings with relatively large areas of wall space that can be seen from area highways and trafficways.  We market the concept to potential advertisers as an alternative to billboards or other advertising mediums.

We currently have several permanent locations that we operate from throughout the Kansas City market.  Enclosed are pictures of a few of our locations during the day and how various ads appear on those locations at night.  We have lease agreements in place with the building owners of each location.  We are not a franchise operation. I have a background in the billboard business and plan to expand our operation into other markets.

We have been getting several requests from current and potential clients about the Lawrence market.   We wanted to take the steps necessary to get a permit from the City of Lawrence to operate in your city.  The following factors of our concept have contributed to the positive response we have gotten from other cities:

Environmentally Friendly: we preserve the scenic view of an area; no structures are built; nothing is attached to the building we project on; the building will look just as it does today; no chipped paint, ripped paper/banners or collapsible structures to be concerned about

Promote Commerce for Small Business: not only do we help generate sales for the local bigger businesses, but more importantly, the smaller business person who has not been able to afford a billboard concept in the past can afford our concept to help promote their business

We wanted to address a couple of request that you and your colleagues might have, the factors regarding the installation of our projection unit and the potential location we are interested in seeking for our concept.

In regard to the projection unit, we have enclosed pictures of our projection system.  The total area the unit takes up is no more then 12 square feet.  The unit will not be permanently attached to the roof of the potential location, but will be secured.  We will not permanently wire-in electricity to the unit.  The unit will be powered by a plug-in as opposed to a hard-wire.  The limited amount of power needed by the projection unit is a 208 to 240 plug-in receptacle.

The potential location we are seeking to place the unit is on top of the roof of the building located at 8 W. 8th Street, just above the Palace Card & Gift Shop. The potential wall we are seeking to project ads onto is located at 743 Massachusetts, just above Jeffersons Bar & Grill. (see attached photos) The projected light will not extend over any public driveway, alley or thoroughfare used for vehicular traffic. The size of the ads we will be projecting will not exceed the square footage allowed under Article 7 of the City of Lawrence sign codes.

Based on similar set-up situations that we have had in the past to the 8 W. 8th Street location, we feel confident that only the top part of the projection unit will be visible during the day from the street.

Enclosed is a tape that will provide a better understanding of our concept. We look forward to the opportunity to operate in the City of Lawrence and would appreciate any direction you can give us to obtain a permit.

Please feel free to give me a call if you have any questions at (816) 686-0946.

Kind regards,
