Recommendation Action:
Approve bid from King’s Construction Co., Inc. for George Williams Way, 6th Street to Harvard, Street, Storm Sewer, and Waterline Improvements, in the amount of $1,759,240.31, provided the contractor can meet the terms established in the contract documents.
Incentive Recommendation: The contract will include $1,375.00 per day for liquidated damages. This road is currently not developed and will not cause any public inconvenience. No recommendation for incentive. Working days for this project is 150.
Description: The construction of George Williams Way from 6th Street to Harvard Road. This is a collector street; 36’ back of curb to back of curb bike lanes, a roundabout at the intersection with Harvard, and a left turn lane at 6th Street. The City is a property owner with a 5% share in the cost. Harvard Road includes the construction of a collector street with bike lanes (36’ wide) from George Williams Way east approximately 500’. The City is a property owner with a 65% share in the cost. In addition, the City will pay for the construction of a RCB (reinforced concrete box) for drainage.
