September 8, 2004 minutes

 

MEMBERS PRESENT:

Boley, Hyler, Immel, Josserand, Keel, Kennedy, Kreicker,  Reiber, Ross, Schumm, Tsubaki

Frank Baron, Sharon & Bob Holladay


Kreicker called the meeting to order at 5:35 pm.

 

Boley provided an update on the work of the City auditor, Tom Singleton and his staff.

We should have compilations for 2001, 2002, 2003 to review at our next meeting.  This will permit the IRS forms to be filed.

 

Ross moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved.  Seconded by Keel and passed unanimously.

 

Hyler reported on banquet ticket sales.  There are 54 left to sell.  Kreicker will contact the artist, Alvin Howell, to remind him he has a free ticket and to invite his wife.

 

Schumm provided an update on the banquet food and decoration arrangements

 

Patterson gave an update on the parade and viewing stand arrangements. 

 

A discussion of van rental arrangements for the delegates was held.  Josserand moved that we provide up to $620 for transporting the German delegation.  Seconded by Schumm and passed unanimously.  After additional discussion, Josserand moved that we provide up to $240 additional for van rental for the Japanese delegation.  Seconded by Schumm and passed unanimously.  The vans for the Japanese will be rented through the city to save on costs.

 

Kreicker reported that the gift bags for the delegates were ready to be picked-up at the Parks & Recreation Dept.  Office. Ross stated that her husband could help move them to the Lawrence Country Club on Friday morning.  Keel will also help move them.

 

Frank Baron advised that the photos we have received from Eutin and Hiratsuka will be displayed at the Public Library, Westside Deli, Watkins Museum, the Kansas Union and

eventually at Borders.

 

At 7:05pm.Josserand moved that the meeting adjourn.  Seconded by Schumm and passed unanimously.
