Re: Agenda Item – Design and Construction Services Contract with Bartlett and West Engineers for North Lawrence Pump Stations 1, 2, and 3 Improvement Project (Utilities Project #1SS-104)
Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the November 9, 2004 meeting:
Approve Contract with Bartlett and West Engineers for North Lawrence Pump Stations 1, 2, and 3 Improvement Project - Design and Construction Services (Utilities Project #1SS-104)
Project History: The Utilities Department Collection Division desires to improve existing sanitary sewer pump stations #1 (301 North Street), #2 (570 Walnut Street) and #3 (720 Grant Street) in North Lawrence in accordance with the 2003 Wastewater Master Plan. A map showing these project locations is attached. Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) for this project were sent out and six (6) proposals were evaluated. The proposal from Bartlett and West Engineers was deemed to be the best based on overall professional experience of the firm, proposed project approach and understanding, cost projections, and qualifications of the Project Manager, staff and sub-consultants.
Project Status: Bartlett and West has completed a Preliminary Study of the project to determine the scope and cost and is now prepared to deliver design and construction services.
Action Request: We request that the City Commission approve a contract with Bartlett and West Engineering in the not-to-exceed amount of $313,702.30 for North Lawrence Pump Stations 1, 2, and 3 Improvement Project (Utilities Project #1SS-104)
