The Crafco EZ Pour 100 trailer mounted crack filling machine has reached the end of its useful life. This unit (#364) has been retired and replaced by a new unit. The new unit is operational and in service so we can proceed with disposal of the old unit.
It is difficult to know the best way to sell our surplus vehicles and equipment. In the past few years we sold them through Nationwide Auction. This year we have been successful selling our surplus vehicles through ebay. Our beginning price on ebay is Kelly Blue Book trade in value. We have always received more than that price. Selling on ebay we also have a large selling area and larger number of people seeing the equipment. On the last ebay sale some vehicles were sold to people as far away as North Dakota and Mississippi.
This equipment we are requesting to sell is unusual and we feel that we could possibly get more by selling it on ebay with a larger selling area than advertising and selling it locally.
Recommendation Action:
Approve sale of the Crafco EZ Pour Crack Filler through ebay.
