October 6, 2004 minutes
MEMBERS PRESENT: Nancy Bjorge, Stuart Boley, Kathleen Hodge, Linda Hyler, Jon Josserand, Michael Kennedy, Graham Kreicker, Beth Reiber, Gina Ross, Andrew Tsubaki; also, Frank Baron, Sharon & Bob Holladay, Lilly Tsubaki, Tom Miyazaki
MEMBERS ABSENT: Sheila Immel, Bill Keel, Bob Schumm, Karen Swisher
STAFF LIASION PRESENT: Lisa Patterson
PUBLIC PRESENT: none
Kreicker called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.
Ross moved to approve the minutes of the 8/18/04 meeting. Seconded by Hyler and passed unanimously.
Ross moved to approve the minutes of the 9/8/04 meeting. Seconded by Hyler and passed unanimously.
Boley provided a Treasurer’s report, and distributed copies of our accountant’s account compilations for the years 2003, 2002 and 200l. He answered questions about the report.
After discussion about the requirement for us to have financial policies that meet City requirements and good accounting practices, Boley moved to create a committee to investigate alternatives and then recommend a set of policies to the entire board. Seconded by Ross and passed unanimously. Kreicker named to the committee Gina Ross, Vice Chair; Bill Keel representing Friends of Hiratsuka, Linda Hyler representing Friends of Hiratsuka and Lisa Patterson representing the City.
It was requested that Kreicker send a letter to Dave & Gunda Hiebert to thank them for holding a musical presentation in heir home for the Eutin delegates. He will do so.
In Keel’s absence, Baron presented a report on the activities of Eutin’s Sesquicentennial delegation
Tsubaki presented a report on the activities of Hiratsuka’s Sesquicentennial delegation.
Hodge presented a report on the Sesquicentennial banquet.
Hyler presented a reported on the youth volunteers that assisted at the banquet.
Tsubaki and Baron reported on the K.U. Continuing Education class they will provide.
At 6:55pm. Tsubaki moved that the meeting adjourn. Seconded by Ross and passed unanimously.
