NOTICE OF HEARING ON THE PROPOSED SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS TO PAY THE COST OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF LAKE POINTE DRIVE FROM THE INTERSECTION OF 22nd TERRACE SOUTH TO CLINTON PARKWAY INCLUDING PROPERTY ACQUISITION, TRAFFIC CALMING/CONTROL DEVICES, INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT CLINTON PARKWAY AND LAKE POINTE DRIVE, BICYCLE FACILITIES, SUBGRADE STABILIZATION, STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS, AND OTHER NECESSARY AND APPROPRIATE IMPROVEMENTS, AS AUTHORIZED BY RESOLUTION NO. 6557

 

The Board of Commissioners of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, will meet on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at 6:35 p.m. or thereafter, in the City Commission Chambers, City Hall, 6 East 6th Street, to hear any written or oral objections on the report of property to be assessed because of the following improvements:

The construction of Lake Pointe Drive from the intersection of 22nd Terrace south to Clinton Parkway including property acquisition, traffic calming/control devices, intersection improvements at Clinton Parkway and Lake Pointe Drive, bicycle facilities, subgrade stabilization, stormwater improvements, and other necessary and appropriate improvements. The total cost of the project is $1,166,250.00.  The costs being assessed to property in the benefit district total $1,166,250.00. 

 

The properties being assessed are:

 

Tract 1            Pin Number 023-113-05-0-30-02-020.02-0

Lot 2, Block 2, Lake View Addition, a subdivision of the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, filed at the Douglas County Register of Deeds on May 11, 2004 in plat book P-17, page 706.

 

Tract 2            Pin Number 023-113-05-0-30-02-020.01-0

Lot 1, Block 2, ,Lake View Addition, a subdivision of the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, filed at the Douglas County Register of Deeds on May 11,2004 in plat book P-17, page 706..

 

Tract 3            Pin Number 023-113-05-0-30-02-020.00-0

Lot 1, Block 1, ,Lake View Addition, a subdivision of the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, filed at the Douglas County Register of Deeds on May 11,2004 in plat book P-17, page 706

 

Interested parties may see the reports in the office of the City Clerk prior to the hearing if they so desire.  Written comments will be considered by the City Commission and should be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office, P.O. Box 708, Lawrence, KS, 66044 or may be sent by e-mail to freeb@ci.lawrence.ks.us.

 

No suit to set aside the said assessments or otherwise question the validity of the proceedings shall be brought after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the publication of the ordinance fixing said assessments.
