Concrete Work for Bus Bay and Shelter Relocation and Installation Contract – Various Sites
Project History. The Public Transit Department issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB #2004-02) on November 4, 2004 for concrete work for a bus bay and shelter relocation and concrete work and installation of shelters at ten (10) additional sites. The Department received four sealed bids: Mega Industries, Musselman & Hall, Morgan Concrete and RD Johnson.
Project Status. All bids were reviewed by transit staff and the City’s Engineer. All bids followed the prescribed submission format and did not contain any irregularities and informalities.

Project Details. The project includes a bus bay and shelter relocation at 23rd and Harper and the installation of ten (10) additional shelters throughout our routes. All work will be in compliance with ADA standards. All property owners were notified of this work prior to the issuing of IFB #2004-02. Weather permitting, the contract should be completed within forty (40 days) of the negotiated start date.
Project Funding. This project will be funded from a federal earmark grant with an 80% federal/20% local breakdown.
Action Request. Public Transit Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to award the bid to the low bidder and authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with RD Johnson in the amount of $56,431.30 for completion of technical specifications as outlined in IFB #2004-02.
