REF: Tanker / Pumper Bid Evaluation and Recommendation

Proposals were received and opened November 30, 2004, for (1) 2000 Gallon Tanker / Pumper Apparatus, City bid number 0434.  Vendors that submitted a proposal and their “Net Bids” were;

Emergency Fire Equipment Co.         -           $299,993.00

Elite Power Products, Inc.                  -           $315,490.00

Murphy’s Fire & Rescue                     -           $326,550.00

Roger A. Brown, Pierce Mfg.              -           $328,751.00

I have reviewed and evaluated the low-bid proposal submitted by Emergency Fire Equipment Company for Crimson Fire, and feel their apparatus meets the intent of our specification. 

Therefore, it is my recommendation that we submit a request in accordance with City of Lawrence policies and procedures, to purchase the proposed apparatus from Emergency Fire Equipment Company for $299,993.00.
