Re: Agenda Item Close out of Wastewater treatment Plant expansion project
Project Description. Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion final contract change orders for Black and Veatch, and Danis Environmental Industries for project close out for consideration by the City Commission on the December 21, 2004 agenda.
Project Description/History. The final phase of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion is completed and the final change orders (contractor Danis Environmental) and supplemental service agreements (engineer Black & Veatch) are completed.
Project Status. Construction began in September of 2000 and was substantially completed in November of 2003. Contractual final completion is established by the processing of these change orders and final payments to the engineer and contractor.
Project Details. A summary of actual costs compared with the 1995 Master Plans projected costs is attached, along with the project time table. Change Orders number 15 and 16 for the Danis contract adjusts the contract to a final figure of $37,958,442 and provides for a final payment to Danis of $250,000.
The Supplemental Agreement #4 with Black and Veatch increases their contracted amount by $250,000 to a final figure of $6,482,400.
Project Funding. This project is funded by debt through the State Revolving Loan Fund. Payments are made by recovery of revenue from users through the Water and Sewer Fund.
Action Request.
1) Authorize the City Manager to sign Change Orders #15 ($+13,567) and #16 (-$175,167) to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion project contract with Danis Environmental Industries
2) Authorize the City Manager to sign Supplemental Services Agreement #4 with Black and Veatch for engineering services related to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion project for the amount of $250,000.
