Crack Sealing Efforts   Photo

Crews with the Street Division of Public Works are taking advantage of the winter weather to seal up the streets.  From early November through December 23, 9,903 pounds of sealer material has been put onto city streets.  The City crew works on the two-step process by first using a heated blower to heat the surface and remove debris and water.  The second step is to lay in the sealant and spread it.  This season’s priority list for crack sealing started in North Lawrence with North Second and North Third Streets.  Crews moved into the neighborhoods in North Lawrence.  Next on the list is 23rd Street from Massachusetts to Barker Avenue; Massachusetts from 11th Street to 23rd Street.
