On January 11, 2005, the City of Lawrence opened proposals for the following:

The Public Works Department is requesting to replace four rear load refuse trucks.  These trucks have high maintenance costs and are at the end of their life cycle.  The low bid from American Equipment does not meet the required specifications of the vertical hopper opening, the tailgate overhang and the hydraulic tank.  The second low bid from Roy Conley does meet all specifications.  We would also like to add the options of the extended 5 year warranty and to reduce spillage and as a safety factor we would also like to add the enclosed front of the bodyoption.  These options will increase the total bid by $10,980.00.

 

Recommendation Action:

Approve bid from Roy Conley for four (4) front load refuse trucks in the amount of $409,532.00 (Public Works/Solid Waste)
