The City of Lawrence has an installed base of seven Siemens CBX telecommunications switches in various locations including City Hall, Kaw Water Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Law Enforcement Center, Investigations & Training Center, maintenance garage, and the Indoor Aquatic Center. These systems provide telephone service for the departments at these locations.
As these systems have aged, the annual maintenance costs from Siemens has been escalating while the service level as remained constant, or in some instances decreased. A request for bid was prepared requesting fixed annual maintenance service pricing on these seven systems from qualified maintenance providers.
Recommendation Action:
Approve bid from United Asset Coverage for CBX parts and maintenance service for the annual cost of $24,598.00. (Information Systems/Utilities/Police Department/Central Maintenance Garage/Indoor Aquatic Center)
