Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the March 15, 2005 meeting:
Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Delich, Roth & Goodwillie, P.A. for design, bid, and construction phase services for the 24th & Crossgates and Wakarusa & Harvard Relief Sewers in the amount of $138,827.
The services are required for completion of the 24th & Crossgate Relief Sewer Project (#CS04-08) and the Harvard & Wakarusa Relief Sewer Project (# CS04-09). These two projects entail the construction of nine segments (3,172 lineal feet of pipe) of relief sewer at locations shown on the attached maps.
Project History.
December 2003 The 2003 Wastewater Master Plan recommends Capital Improvement Projects in the areas of 24th & Crossgate and Wakarusa & Harvard and schedules these projects for implementation in 2004.
July 2004 City hired DRG for Study Phase Services for the following Capital Improvement Plan projects at a cost of $24,238.
· CS04-01, 02 (21st Ousdahl to 23rd Naismith Relief Sewer)
· CS04-05 (24th and Crossgate Relief Sewer)
· CS04-06 (Wakarusa and Harvard Relief Sewer)
December 2004 Preliminary Report received, reviewed by City staff.
February 2005 Final Report CIP Project Evaluations: CS04-08 24th and Crossgate and CS04-09 Wakarusa and Harvard received and reviewed by City staff.
Project Status The study phase is concluded and relief sewer locations have been identified by the Consultant and reviewed by City staff.
Project Details The Wakarusa & Harvard relief sewer will involve the replacement of 38 L.F. of 8 sewer pipe with 10 sewer pipe. The 24th & Wakarusa relief sewer will involve the replacement of 3,134 L. F. of 21 sewer pipe with 24 sewer pipe.
Project Funding This project will be funded from the non-bonded construction fund.
Action Request Utility Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Delich, Roth & Goodwillie, P.A., in the amount of $138,827.00 for design, bid and construction phase services for the 24th & Crossgate and Wakarusa & Harvard Relief Sewer Project.
