RE:	University of Kansas – City of Lawrence Cooperation Agreement

The Lawrence – Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Commission has unanimously recommended approval of the University of Kansas – City of Lawrence Cooperation Agreement, with one minor change which was agreed to by KU officials.  The change occurs in Section 4) b):

Further, any new University construction within the 150 foot buffer area shall have a height no greater than its set-back from the public right of way adjacent to the nearest City-maintained street, and on-site parking pursuant to City requirements shall be provided for student housing structures built within the 150 foot buffer area.

Staff recommends approval of the agreement with this modification.  The future Development Code will reference the approved agreement in the U (University) District provisions of the Code.
