Plans and Specifications – Final Review
- Taxiway D; MIRL & MITL
Based on the submitted sponsor certification and associated documentation, we approve the bid package for the subject project. You may now advertise for bids.
Please be advised that our review should not be construed as relieving you, the sponsor, nor the engineer of the responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, and technical content of the Plans and Specification. If subsequent to this review, items are found to be non-conforming with respect to FAA standards, you shall take appropriate measures to correct the nonconforming work. Please forward to our office one set of the “as-bid” package once it is available.
As soon as possible after you receive bids please submit the following:
- One copy of the Tabulation of Bids
- A listing of DBE subcontractors along with the amount and nature of work for each DBE subcontract, a contact for each DBE (name and phone number), evidence of when and by whom each DBE was last certified, and written affirmation of DBE’s intent to participate
- A Sponsor written recommendation for award of contract
- Sponsor Certification for Equipment/Construction Contracts
Upon receipt of the above information we will be in a position to evaluate the bids and to offer our concurrence in award. Please note that any contract awards made prior to receipt of FAA concurrence could jeopardize federal participation in this project.
In addition to the above noted bid information, we request that you prepare and submit a complete grant application based on the defined total project costs. A current Exhibit “A” property map and certificate of title should be attached to the project application. We remind you of the new OMB requirement to identify your Dun and Bradstreet’s DUNS number on the project application form. Standard form SF 424 has been revised to include a space for the DUNS number.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, you may contact me at (816) 329-2627.
Sincerely,
State Airport Engineer (KS)
