RE:	May 14 Helmet Fair

The Lawrence Douglas County Fire Medical Department will hold the annual Helmet Fair on Saturday, May 14 at Free State High School. 

From polling past event attendees, organizers discovered that in addition to learning about the event in advance, a number of people made the decision to attend while driving by the event.  An informational and directional sign would encourage additional attendance at this year’s event.  The sign will compliment the promotional efforts including flyer distribution, web site, media releases and appearances, and contact with youth organizations and the schools.

I request the City Commission approve the temporary placement of an informational and directional sign on the northeast corner of 6^th Street and Wakarusa Drive in the right-of-way on Saturday, May 14 for the Lawrence Helmet Fair.
