Public Works Solid Waste requested bids for a Toolcat Tool Carrier. The equipment presently in use, a 1985 Yale forklift, Unit 943, is unreliable and has high maintenance costs. The Toolcat Tool Carrier we are requesting is a propane powered wheeled machine for indoor use similar to a forklift but with the ability to use multiple attachments in addition to forks. It will be used inside our recycling facility for pushing off-loaded paper and cardboard to the balers, and moving, stacking, and loading bales of cardboard or paper. This purchase was approved in the 2005 budgeting process.
Recommendation Action:
Approve bid from KC Bobcat for (1) Toolcat Tool Carrier in the amount of $42,420.60 (Public Works/Sanitation)
