Meeting called to order at 2:00 p.m.
Members discussed their interest in the new ordinances for contractor licensing [City Code Article 5 Article 12] and Contractor Licensing Board [City code Article 5 Article 13]. Motion by Wyatt, seconded by Barrington, pass 4-0 to review draft amendments that removes mechanical trade licensing from the Mechanical Code ordinance [City Code Article 5 Article 11] and add mechanical trade licensing provisions to the Contractor Licensing ordinance. Also, specify the city’s mechanical contractor continuing education requirements to be the same as the state trade licensing law [amended sections K.S.A. 12-1509 and 12-1542]. Further, review a draft amendment creating a Contractor Licensing Board position for a licensed mechanical board member.
