RE:                  Waterline Relocation at Kasold Bridge and KTA

 

Please include the following item on the consent agenda for the July 5, 2005 City Commission meeting.

 

Set Bid Date for Waterline Relocation at Kasold Bridge and KS Turnpike:

 

Project History The current project includes waterline relocation work that is necessary due to future street and drainage improvements ( Public Works project) along Kasold and the bridge over the Kansas Turnpike. The project  requires relocation of approximately 400  ft of  12 inch waterline. 

 

Project Status / Details:   The design for the street and waterline relocation work was completed by PEC engineers.  Notification was provided by Public Works that the waterline required adjustment prior to beginning street / drainage construction.  The anticipated  schedule for the work at this time:

 

Bid Letting – July 26th

Notice to Proceed  - August 16th

End Construction – End of September   

 

Project Funding: 

Funding for this project will come from the non-bonded construction fund for 2005 waterline improvements.  This fund provides approximately $1,000,000 per year for waterline and treatment plant improvements .

Action Request.  The Utilities Department is seeking approval from the City Commission to set a bid date of July 26th for the Waterline Relocation at Kasold Bridge and the Kansas Turnpike.
