RE:	State Alcohol Law Changes – Results of Survey / Ordinance No. 7899

At the June 28, 2005, City Commission meeting, the Commission received a staff memorandum concerning the 2005 State law changes governing Sunday and certain holiday sales of package cereal malt beverages (CMB) and alcohol.  Results of the mail survey are attached.  Citizen input was also requested from the City internet site.  All 63 respondents favored Sunday sales.  No additional comments were received.  Some of the mail survey recipients may have chosen to respond via the internet without providing their contact information.

In response to one of the questions raised in the mail survey, the City does not have the authority to vary the hours for Sunday and holiday sales from those set out in the new State law.

If the Commission desires to proceed with adoption, Ordinance No. 7899 has been placed on the agenda for first reading.
