Please include the following item on the City Commission regular agenda for consideration at the July 26, 2005 meeting:
The City Commission will hold a public hearing for the application of Mike and Sheri Nieder, 525 N. 7th, Lawrence, KS, to request the vacation of Perry Street west of N. 7th Street. This section of Perry Street is only 80 ft. deep between Lot 1 and Lot 3, Block 2, in Smith’s Subdivision. Perry Street east of 7th Street was previously vacated in 1981 and the section being requested does not connect to anything. The Nieders’ own the lots on both sides and would like to use the area for garages for the two houses. Property owners within 200 ft. and all utilities have been notified. No issues/concerns have been raised.
Staff recommends approval of the vacation of this right-of-way.
If additional information is needed, please feel free to call.
Action Requested: Hold public hearing and, pending public discussion, approve Order of Vacation.
