An ordinance establishing solid waste service rates for 2006 is attached. The increase in solid waste service rates is explained in a May 20, 2005 staff memo that was submitted to the City Commission during the June 15, 2005 budget study session and recommends a 2% rate increase to cover the cost of operations.
Commission Action: Adopt Ordinance No. 7900, as appropriate.
Water and Wastewater Ordinance and Rates
Pursuant to the recommendations in the 2004 Black & Veatch Report on Revenue Requirements, Costs of Service, and Rates for Water and Wastewater Service, the attached ordinance has been developed to reflect new rates for:
· water service (inside and outside the city customers)
· wastewater service (inside and outside the city customers)
· charges for extra strength wastewater discharges (excessive total suspended solids and/or BOD)
Additionally, the Report recommends an increase in the wholesale water rate (rural water districts and Baldwin City) in 2006.
Attached please find a memo from the Utilities Department that details the increases identified above.
