RE:	Donation of Vehicles

Background – As part of the merger of the Douglas County Ambulance Service and the Lawrence Fire Department all capital equipment became property of and in the instance of vehicles titled to the City of Lawrence.  In addition all purchased capital items including vehicles would be handled in the same fashion.  We currently have two vehicles – a 1993 Ford Explorer that was assigned to Division Chief Murray and a 1994 Reserve Ford Ambulance.  Both vehicles have been requested as donations by county agencies.  Lawrence Humane Society, Inc would like the Explorer and Eudora Township Fire would like the ambulance (to be used for fire scene rehab use only.)

The county commission has already agreed to the donation of the vehicles. 

Request – We are requesting that the listed vehicles be donated to the following agencies:

          1993 Ford Explorer – Lawrence Humane Society, Inc

          1994 Ford Ambulance – Eudora Township Fire
