Resolution No.  6606

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, ORDERING THE IMPROVEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS FOR THE DESIGN CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CITY FACILITIES PURSUANT TO CHARTER ORDINANCE NO. 32

 

BE IS RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

 

Section 1.         The Governing Body herby finds that the design and construction of a Fire/Medical facility generally located in the 1800 block of Wakarusa Drive, and related and necessary improvements is in the public interest and is hereby ordered.

 

Section 2          The Governing Body hereby allocates for the project described in Section 1, the amount of $2,600,000, not including issuance and interest costs, for said project.  The cost of the project shall be paid from all lawful sources including the issuance of General Obligation Bonds pursuant to Charter Ordinance No. 32.  This estimate shall increase one percent (1%) per month after the adoption of the resolution.

 

Section 3          The City expects to make additional capital expenditures on and after the date of adoption of this resolution in connection with the project set forth in this resolution, and the City intends to reimburse itself for such expenditures with the proceeds of the bonds and/or notes in the maximum principal amount of $2,600,000.  This Resolution is supplemental to the provisions of Resolution No. 6546.
