The Siemens Hipath 3800 is a newer model than the 3750 offering increased expandability and improved design features. This is a hybrid system in the sense that it will support both traditional telephone trunks as well as the newer voice over IP (VoIP) technology. The 3800 model will support Fire and Medical’s immediate and long-term needs with its capability for expansion and voice over IP (VoIP) support.
Recommendation Action:
Information Systems therefore recommends accepting the low bid of $30,819 from Kansas Communications for the Siemens Hipath 3800 system. Paid from bond proceeds for the capital projects fund.
