On September 13, 2005 the City of Lawrence opened proposals for the following:

Bid #0526 – Tree and Brush Chipper – Parks and Recreation

This tree and brush chipper is to replace two older chippers, unit 557 and unit 569.  Both of these chippers, due to age and use, qualify for replacement.  Besides the base price of the chipper we are requesting options including an up grade John Deere engine, dual batteries, hydraulic brakes rather than electric brakes and a hand crank swivel discharge.  The options will cost an additional $2,690.00.  The money being used to purchase the chipper was received from FEMA after the ice storm earlier in the year.

Recommendation:

Approve bid from Vegetation Management Supply for a tree and brush chipper and optional equipment in the amount of $17,585.00.  (Parks & Recreation/Forestry)
