Members of the City Commission:

As you requested, the Lawrence Arts Commission reviewed the proposed sign permit application no. 05-00200281 at its September 14, 2005 meeting and voted not to recommend that the City Commission approve the proposed sign permit application as proposed by Century School.  The reasoning for not recommending approval was that the mural was underway and partially completed when the matter was referred to the Lawrence Arts Commission.  Approving the mural would be inconsistent with the mural review guidelines and the City Code.
