Proclamation

Lawrence, Kansas

 

WHEREAS:   Kansas Association for Family and Community Education is an independent non profit organization instituted for the purpose of enriching Kansas families; and

 

WHEREAS:   The mission of Family and Community Education is strengthening individuals, families, and communities through:

 

v      Continuing Education;

v      Developing Leadership;

v      Community Action; and

 

WHEREAS:   In Kansas during the past year, more than 65 councils with 246 FCE’s and approximately 2400 members received continuing education through Family and Community Education; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dennis “Boog” Highberger, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby proclaim October 9 – 15, 2005 to be

 

“KANSAS FAMILY AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION WEEK”

 

in recognition and appreciation of Kansas Association for Family and Community Education members’ contributions to the State of Kansas.
