November 15 , 2005 Agenda Item |
Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the November 15, 2005 meeting:
Mechanical Systems Renovation – Investigation and Training Center (ITC) 4820 Bob Billings Parkway
This is for the replacement of an existing roof top unit. It currently serves occupied and unoccupied areas of the ITC Building.
Project History. The Public Works Department solicited RFP’s for replacement and partial integration into the existing system. The project needs to be completed asap to insure heat for the building. Part of the area is not occupied at this time, but heat is a necessity to keep the building systems functioning. Consideration was given to the size and partial integration into the present controls due to speculation of future use. Requests were sent to Chaney Inc., Cloud Heating and Cooling, and Huxtables L.T. Service. The RPF was published and submitted to Demand Star. The Department received two proposals: Huxtables L.T. and sys-tek (from the internet advertisement). The others declined to submit.
Project Status.
The proposals were reviewed and the department selected Huxtables L.T. as the firm to perform the renovation and replacement of the HVAC based on the following criteria:
