On November 11, the City of Lawrence and Douglas County opened bids for the following:
#05016 – Elevator Maintenance – Cooperative Bid, City/County combined
VENDOR |
TOTAL BID |
Interstate Elevator |
$ 31,500.00 |
ThyssenKrupp |
31,812.00 |
General Elevator |
38,556.00 |
The City of Lawrence and Douglas County cooperatively received bids for elevator maintenance. The City has 14 elevators and the County has 7 elevators. Both entities combined will save a total of $7,204.00 over last years contracts by entering this agreement, the City’s share being $4,304.00. The contract is renewable each year for up to four additional years providing all parties agree.
The two Parks and Recreation elevators bid, one at the Community Building the other at the Indoor Aquatic Center, are the only two elevators that went up in price, those two would cost $1,428.00 more per year. The bid was written so we can reject any elevators and Parks and Recreation would like to reject that part of the bid and continue with their current contract. Interstate Elevator has been in business for only one year and it was a requirement in the bid for the company to be in business for a minimum of three years. The prices below reflect only the prices of the 12 City elevators we would like on the contract.

TOTAL BID |
ThyssenKrupp |
$19,080.00 |

Recommendation Action:
