On November 22, 2005, the City of Lawrence opened proposals for the following:  

Bid#0541 – 2006 Water Treatment Chemicals – Utilities Department

Please see attached bid tab.

The low bid for sodium bisulfite from PVS required a 4000 gallon minimum.  We cannot accept more than a 2000 gallon delivery as stated in the bid.  The low bid for ferrous chloride from Kemiron also required a full truckload which we cannot accept because of our tank size.  The low bid for permanganate from Altivia required a 10,000 lb. shipment and we required 55 lb. pails and the second low from Univar did not include delivery charges and did not agree with the contract language on the bid sheet.   

Recommendation Action:

Approve recommended bids as marked (*), (Utilities/Chemicals Fund)
